Rambam - The Laws of Teshuvah

Description: Maimonides, the Rambam, observed in the twelfth century: In our day, we have no Great Temple. The altar of atonement, on which our ancestors gave repentance offerings, no longer exists. Yet we still have repentance, Teshuva, which atones for all sins.

Come learn and discuss this timeless section of Rambamís lucid Mishneh Torah, as vivid and relevant today as it was in his time.

Exactly how good or bad are we? In the grand scheme of things, do our individual small improvements (or backslidings) matter?

How do we address wrongs we have committed against other people? What if someone refuses to forgive you? Why should you not take a lizard with you into the mikveh?

You are invited to join our study and discussion sessions which will be held on Wednesdays in September at 11:00 am.

Texts (in English and Hebrew) will be provided, or bring your own. Prior knowledge of Hebrew or Jewish Law is not required.
