Prayerbook Hebrew

Description: Do you feel daunted by Hebrew prayers? Do you find yourself reading transliteration? Or are you saying the prayers by rote, but not understanding the meaning? We have a class for you!

On Sundays when religious school is in session, Prayer Book Hebrew Class meets from 2:30 to 3:30. We review vocabulary and grammar from Hebrew prayers, practice reading and translating some of the liturgy, and throw in a little Modern Hebrew grammar, as appropriate. We use textbook, prayer book, and video to make for an interactive and multi-faceted session. Itís fun and it will make your shul experience more meaningful and enjoyable when you know what the words mean.

Prayer Book Hebrew is open to anyone who knows all the Hebrew letters and can decode, albeit slowly, with vowels. If you need to learn Alef Bet, that can be arranged at a different time. Contact Education Director Dale Rosenberg at for more information. Or just show up on Sunday afternoons.
