10:00am [10:00am] Trip to Yalla Vermont
Description:
Some CAA’ers have already discovered an authentic Israeli breakfast-and-lunch spot in nearby Brattleboro and we’re looking to spread the word. Yalla Vermont is a small restaurant serving shakshuka, falafel, babaganoush, and other Middle Eastern delights. The pita is fluffy and fresh, the hummous garlicky and delicious. The pickles will make you feel like you are in Jerusalem! Join us on an expedition to learn more about Israeli food and enjoy a great brunch. We’ll meet at CAA at 10:00 and have some brief instruction about Israeli restaurants, including some Hebrew phrases that will come in handy. Then we’ll carpool over to Yalla Vermont, where Zohar – the proprietor – will tell us more about the Israeli restaurant scene. Then we’ll eat brunch, ordering from the regular menu augmented with some specials just for us. Yalla means “Come on” – so come on this field trip. You’ll be glad you did. Yalla is a small restaurant so the trip is limited to 10 participants. You must RSVP so we know we aren’t exceeding the limit.
